Some Imporant Notices about Debate Club

Today we have successfully completed our first session of Debating Club.Thanks to all the IITians for providing a lots of support at the beginning session. I hope that this support will remain in other days.

Now some important Notices of the Debating Club.

1. We have decide to arrange our session at every Wednesday at 5 pm. Because Both of first and second batch have a very little pressure on Thursday. (We wanted to hold it on Thursday but it will contradict with the programming class). This schedule will remain Till November 8, 2010.
2. That means we will get only one session in this semester at 3rd November and the their we will arrange a public speaking and another show debate in a interesting method.
3. As our club is a little one, so we will have no formal committee, but we will hold a managing committee who will hold the official work and Liaison with DUDS and other debating club.
4. The Members of committee and name of Moderator will be declared on Next session.

Finally again thanks to all and wishing your courage in future.

in that case, we will have to consider making them club moderators in this forum as well.

Hmmm :p I will let Anik do this. the more he will do, the more he will learn.

Another thing is that, as we have a "debate club section", so it will seem better, if you give debate related topics in the club section. It will make easy to seek and find any debate related topic in a moment.

Notices are a different thing though Our forum noticeboard is like an general noticeboard. All notices can be given here. Also, the maximum amount of importance is also given to them. You can check the notices in our homepage (i.e. portal )

I agree with Pran.
If we give the debate club's notice in notice board then we don't have much thing to post in Debating club zone.
...and Notice board should be for mandatory notice. Debate should be in extra curriculum activities

In that case, I would suggest to use the noticeboard for giving notices where the debate zone will be used for giving details about those notices, discussion about them, etc.

In your school/colleges, didn't you put all notices in a common noticeboard?

In schools or colleges, we didn't use noticeboard related debate club only.
As we have a zone only for debate, so all debate related topic \notice\information should be given in the "debate club" zone.

I am saying from the perspective because of a special happening. Some days ago, Dhrubo told me that, he had given a post about debate club in our forum. Then I searched for that topic in the debate club zone and failed
to find that topic. Because he gave that topic in the noticeboard, not in the debate club zone.

I think, we should share all our thoughts, information and notices about debate in the debate club zone. That's why the zone is created.

For more, If we can continue in that way, after one year we can easily measure our works also.....

Ah, I see. In that case I would like to know Dhrubo's opinion.
And you are not obliged to use the noticeboard for debate related notices from now on.

However, please note that if you use the debate zone for notices as well, it might not be noticed by mass people. Not everyone goes through the debate zone you see.

@Founder, Global Moderator and Club Moderator:

The section IIT Debating Club is one of the most unused section of this forum.....
So if I give any message about debate club it will be unseen to most of the members...
Moreover as it was an important message, that I have posted about club. So I have given it on the Notice Board. Later I also gave a Post on the Club section too. And I agree with Mr. Founder that the important message about all topic should be posted on Notice Board. Otherwise it wont carry any importance of having a notice board of our forum. We can give messages according to it's section rather than using Notice Board. But it wont carry any importance or can be unseen to the members of this forum.

You just earned a Dhrubo.

Not because we are saying the same thing, nope.

But because you presented a very logical view to this scenario. It is professional as well

Except the "...." and the last sentence. You see, we need to understand each other's logic.

Then, even if we don't like it, we have to agree with the opposition's logic at times.

Here is another suggestion.

1. Give notices in noticeboard which contain minimal details.
2. Give detailed description about the same topic in the debate zone.

That way, we will all know about debate notices, and only the interested ones will go to the debate zone to know the details.

I know that it is double work for you guys, but maybe it is a good approach.
