turbo c on ubuntu.......
turbo is a very helpful IDE for learning c/C++ language. it works on windows. following steps below you can make it work on ubuntu-----
open terminal and write-
sudo apt-get install dosbox
open the dosbox(applications-> games-> dosbox)
write-
mount c ~/
this will make your home folder as c drive. now move to the c drive(actually home folder). write-
c:
now copy and paste the TC folder in your home folder
in dosbox write these commands-
cd tc/bin
tc
................................................................
now it is coding time.......
there are some problems. but you can solve it. the up, down, right, left key wont work. you can use right side 2(down),4(left),6(right),8(up) to solve the problem. if it does not work press the num lock for 3 or 4 times and leave it on.

Re: turbo c on ubuntu.......
Hmm... one slight problem.
Once I clicked inside dosbox, I failed to switch windows using alt-tab, or move the mouse pointer outside dosbox. I had to exit from dosbox to get control over the other windows.
Any idea how to switch windows after you click inside dosbox?
And everytime I executed Dosbox, I had to mount C, and etc.
Anyway to set the home/ as the default root directory Muctadir?
Edit: Hell this is difficult to manage..using G++ and GCC is a far better choice to me buddy.
TC is good, but using it via DosBox makes it veerrrrryyyy difficult.

Re: turbo c on ubuntu.......
TC provides you a very rich help archive. if you are using linux and want to see the help, you have to reboot in windows or use virtual machine. and now about the problem. i had the same problem too and forgot to mention that. you can press alt+enter to maximize the dosbox and again press alt+enter to minimize the window. after you minimize this way you get the control over window. again, i posted this topic that does not mean that everyone have to use it. you may not use it if you don't like it.

I assume there is no way to change the default directory in DosBox .
That is not exactly a gentle approach my friend. I simply said It is difficult to manage, and don't see anything that might anyhow be related to "everyone have to use it ".again, i posted this topic that does not mean that everyone have to use it. you may not use it if you don't like it.
Re: turbo c on ubuntu.......
what do you mean by change directory.....???
if you want to change directory it TC, just go to options->directories tab...

Re: turbo c on ubuntu.......
Not that directory Muctadir. I mean, when I execute Dosbox, it shows that its current location is at Z: drive.
then I have to mount C: drive, then go inside and initiate TC.
I am just curious whether there is anyway to make the C: drive the default directory in DosBox so that I don't have to mount it every time I execute DosBox?
