Summary of the meeting with program coordinator of BdOSN

The program coordinator of BdOSN, Shah Md. Imran, visited our institute today to discuss about the formal launching ceremony of DuOSN. He was very pleased to hear that every student of IIT uses open source operating system.

These are the rough decisions that were taken today:

1. The formal launching ceremony would take place in 19th November, 2011.
2. Venue would be TSC.
3. Media coverage ( both electronic and print) would be arranged by BdOSN.
4. There would be a workshop on open source application softwares and operating systems.

Thanks to sakib sir and kabir sir for supporting our initiative. Thanks to muhaimin, alim, muctadir, jobaer, dhrubo, amit for arranging and participating in today's meeting.

We are hoping that DuOSN would be a great opportunity to spread the spirit of open source and make our institute known to others.

Tomorrow Mohaimin will go to TSC with a teacher for checking that whether it is possible to arrange at 19th.

As we are arranging it with DU banner so we have to involve the whole university. So, the thing that we need to do is to publicize the program. So that we need to send invitation letter to every department, making posters across the university and to broadcast the news at internet (specially at Facebook groups of Dhaka University).

Thus hopefully we can make the program versatile. As BIT 1st batch are busy with internship so i hope that 2nd batch will take responsible steps to make the program successful

One thing I kept wondering at the meeting is that if it is UOSN we are talking about, then how about we include some more members from other departments (such as CSE or other science/engineering subjects) in the organizational process?
