I know you are surprised reading the title. But it is true. I just found about this, and honestly, I am impressed with dropbox. Probably the best thing I found after mediafire, and mydatanest.
The features:

2GB free space, for free accounts.
Desktop client that syncronises your folders in Computer across multiple computers.
Direct download link for every file you keep in dropbox synced folder.
If you invite someone, and they join dropbox, you get 250MB free space!!! You can get upto 8GB space this way. They also get 256MB space free
You can also share folders with your friends.
Multi platform. They got dropbox desktop client for Windows, Linux, Mac.
They also offer mobile client using which you can get files.

I was just thinking to share it. What a co-incidence. I used drop-box about 2 month. Its really very nice.

Yup

If I remember correctly, box.net does not offer direct download link (I saw that in some of your links).

But Dropbox is better in that sense Very Happy
