Qubee Modem In Ubuntu
Don't get happy to see the topic title. It's not that actually you have began to think.
Well today an engineer(!!! i have doubt) came to my home to configure the shuttle modem (usb modem) in ubuntu. he gave me a .deb file that can be run to launch the modem. the problem is that, the .deb is compatible up to kernel 2.6.28, whether the latest one will be 2.6.38 in upcoming ubuntu 11.04.
Later I searched on net to find the file and found that in the answer.launchpad. There a great person zkam93 have given the solution (I couldn't know his name !!!!!!) that another modem company has same type modem like qubee modem named green packet. They have the driver for linux, but the problem is that we can run it till ubuntu 9.04 default (means with no upgrade in kernel) (source wiki)
here is the link
just unzip it and go to the Linux folder and run the .deb file. If you have Ubuntu 9.04 or earlier you can run qubee modem.
The problem is that I haven't found the source code with it by which it can be modified.
If any one have any more updates they can post it here. If I will able to know more I will also post it here.

Re: Qubee Modem In Ubuntu
Oh god! Mr. Dubla... just make it possible.. u r gonna get my earnest prayer that u would get ur sunglass.
Re: Qubee Modem In Ubuntu
Can you please provide the link of launchpad?
I think it will be cool if we IITians make a qubee modem for latest Ubuntu
Found it:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-nettool/+question/139831
Now I know why we can not find the source code. The modem driver is provided by green packet itself And unless we get their source code, we can not do anything

Re: Qubee Modem In Ubuntu
Not like that, The vendor of qubee modem is mediatek ltd. who has no driver for linux. BUt the driver that I found is provided by Green acket who produces same type of modem like Mediatek. It's more likely motherboards, where different companies produces different motherboard of same type...
And it will not be cool but too hot to make the the driver of qubee modem and some us have to be turned into "MAD" and "TAKLU"(like bazlu). Just think the matter that you doesn't know the architecture and the working principal of a hardware but you have to make a software for it....it's nearly impossible.........
