DBMS Assignment Help for 7August's Class

Well, the title is self explanatory.

If i remember correctly, Ripon sir said we need to find out the steps occuring when we shutdown or start an oracle instance.

Thing is, I have not found out the details... yet. If someone already did, please do explain it here. If I find out the details, I will post it here asap as well.

Next, tomorrow there is some home work practises by tahrima madam. I hope you guys solved it, because apparently, my brain is out of order :S I can't even concentrate.

I found it the answers of oracle start up and shutdown procedure.

BTW, in case you forgot, to start oracle database, you need to type :

sql>startup

output:

ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area  520093696 bytes
Fixed Size            1259808 bytes
Variable Size          155191008 bytes
Database Buffers      360710144 bytes
Redo Buffers            2932736 bytes
Database mounted.
Database opened.



and when you shut it down, it will give:

command:
SQL> shutdown normal;

output:
Database closed.
Database dismounted.
ORACLE instance shut down.
