Detail syllabus of OS for Quiz-1

URGENT UPDATE BY ADMIN:

I have just talked with sir over phone.

He said we need to study mainly the topics he discussed in class, as well
as process scheduling algorithms, their advantages and disadvantages,
when they should be used, scheduling algorithm based maths... etc.

He also said Student presentations are NOT included in syllabus. No
questions specifically based on operating systems will be made.


I have already mentioned the chapters which are in included in Quiz-1. Now I am going to give a detail syllabus on it which will be helpful I think.

Chapter 3: Process Management

Sir has covered process management, process states, PCB, process scheduling, convoy effect etc. They are in 3.1,3.2.

Chapter 5: CPU scheduling

From here you should read 5.1,5.2,5.3 sections.

Presentations on different OS scheduling given by Dhrubo-Pran(Solaris OS), Efat-Shafik (Windows), Khalid-Linkon(Linux) are also included. Presentation slides of Solaris and Windows are exiting in forum. But We haven't got Linkon-Khalid's slides yet.

You can get help from 5.6 for presentation topics.

By the way, if I missed anything to mention or any wrong information, please check it out and inform here. I am 100% sure whether it is 100% correct or not

bon re presentation nai. At fast sir told presentation is included in the class. Then today Amit called Kabir sir and has given the modified syllabus(what sir told him in phone) in the title post in red color.

Yes bon. But please check that where u wrote this info in red color there, below that, u also told that presentations are included

I wrote that presentation are included when sir told it in the class. But Amit asked sir this evening and then wrote it in Red in. Please follow red colored suggestion.
