A simple guideline while asking for help Empty A simple guideline while asking for help

I have seen some of the topics recently, and most of them are in same pattern.

People describe the symptoms of their problems. But do not provide some mandatory details.
Come on, we are not magicians. We do not look at magic balls and can not solve your problem that way.

When you ask for help, we ask questions to gain more details about your problem, so that we Can help.
If you refuse to give so, we simply can't.

Sometimes some questions looks unnecessary. But they are not. We won't go around asking random questions. We are trying to help voluntarily. Asking non relevant questions is a massive waste of time.

So.. please, keep this points in mind-

  • Describe the symptoms of your problem
  • Describe the environment (OS, software version, OS version etc.) as much as possible.
  • Describe what you did to fix that problem yourself (if you tried, that is)
  • Describe if there is any particular condition(s) under which the problem occurs.
  • Include whether the problem started after a particular change in your system/software.
Not all points are always necessary. But most of the time, most of them are.

You can(and maybe you should)follow this huge page on How to ask questions the smart wayas well.
