Here we are in IIT, studying at software engineering, we have a dream, we have an objective. So here lets make a discussion on career objective.

I am interested in software development and also in database design.

Sigh. Honestly speaking, before coming to IIT, I had dreams and I achieved them all.
After getting to IIT, I am not sure what I want to do, what I am good at, or what suits me

Though I haven't acheive the dreams I had before coming IIT,but I had a lot of dreams
Now, there's nothing

the career objectives, dreams, aspirations that you had before coming to IIT were kind of trivial. like passing HSC successfully, get as best admission as possible, studying a good university, studying a good department..
but from then on having some "career aspirations" is somewhat difficult, since you need to have a big dream, a creative mind to dream about a big dream for it...
i kind of like the question... i need to listen what you are planning to do after BIT at least 1/2 steps ahead what are you going to do...
and as always, there is no scope of being pessimistic and saying "i don't have" you MUST have one... share it.. if you dint think about it, now its the time to think... to think and share...

Sir, I had specific objective, not like having a good result or good job

But I now I am confused because I am not sure which sector will suit me most

If I have to tell in broader aspect, then I must say, I want to work in an international organization because of their standard practice.
After having experience from there, I want to start working for my own company
Another thing, I like designing. I think, database is my interest. I am not good in programming, actually I don't give time on programming

Let me share you my objectives.

I want to be a software architect. I intend to establish myself as a Software developer/architect with an integrated business solution provider through a long time commitment. I want to contribute of an organization ensuring its growth as well as my personal growth. Ive a dream to work in a big organization like sun Microsystems.

I have a soft corner for Java, but as it is a technology only, so I have no dream for specific technology, better I want to explore technologies. I want to meet challenges.

My dream is to work with nano-technology.
