Hello new member of forum Smile
This tutorial is made to make your life easier in IITDU forum. This will let will know about advanced and simple functionalities alike.
Feel free to ask any questions if this topic does not satisfy you.

Enjoy this forum, and Best of Luck!!

1. You want to learn how to format your texts, such as linking your texts, using color, changing font size? Click here to learn.

2. Check out the FAQ(Frequently Asked Questions), because almost all the
questions you ask and you are going to ask are already answered there.

3. Though English is Preferable in this forum because I want to let the world know about ourselves, you can also use Bengali here Smile

4. Before you ask about some topic's location you can't find, use the search button.

5. Before you ask me something for help, discuss about your problems in the chat box and see if someone can solve it.

6. You can remember that once upon a time you registered and also
logged in. However, now when you try to log in, it says your username
doesn't exist.
Solution: Check the memberlist to see if your username is really gone.

7. There are 4 buttons that can be used effectively:
a. View posts since last visit.
b. View your posts
c. View unanswered posts.
d. Today's Active Topics

8. If you want to upload something and share it, there are many file sharing websites in the internet for you.

I would like to suggest that you use MyDataNest for uploading files and then sharing it around. That website gives away about 2 GB of space and monthly 20GB of bandWidth, more than enough for students like us.

(apparently, mydatanest server is down Sad )
Secondarily, PREFER that you USE

www.mediafire.com

It provides the best possible free file sharing services(I didn't see any other site which offers more facilities that Mediafire.com). Simply register there using your Egmail account, upload your contents, and then provide the link here(Warning! any illegal material is not allowed in this forum)

I am going to make a picture based tutorial soon on how to upload files.
edit:
It is available now, click here (updated link on December 10, 2009)

Edit: To learn about how to upload images, go to this link.

9. If you like someone's post, press the + Button. It is a positive vote button, and pressing it will increase that person's reputation. Similarly, if you press - button, it will decrease that person's reputation. Use these tools wisely.

10. When you click emoticons while you are writing a message, the pressed emoticon will be added in your post.

11. You are allowed to make new topics as long as it goes with the forum policy. However, if you do make a topic which is apparently in the wrong section, I will have to move it to the appropriate section. It is a time consuming work, so try to help me by not creating topics in inappropriate sections.

12. People would like to know more about you. Edit your profile from here

13. Regularly check your forum inbox for new messages.

14. You can chat in the forum through two ways. One is the forum's default chatbox , which does not require you to login when you are already logged in forum. the other is the IITDU IRC CHAT, which's for advanced users.
update: We don't use default chat box anymore.

15. You can use your facebook account to login here as well as integrate it with your existing account. You can see the details from here

rep++
