KDE vs GNOME Empty KDE vs GNOME

i installed KDE in my pc. i also got GNOME installed.....
i want to know which one is better for a student like me....???

I think you should also mention the OS of your pc. I mean, some linux OSes, such as OpenSuse, UBuntu, are available in KDE, and Gnome desktops, so the quality varies from OS to OS.

In general sense, KDE and Gnome offer the same facilities from different angles(i.e. perspectives).
So I suggest you to use whatever version you feel comfortable with.

(BTW, as far as I know, KDE is similar to windows. SO if you are shifting from windows to linux OS, you can give KDE desktop a try. But then again, Gnome is supposed to be more stable).

sorry for that....
i am actually using ubuntu....
i guess i got the answer of my question. my kde just crashed today. i am re-installing my ubuntu with gnome environment. gnome is much more stable and flexible than KDE. a little googling gave me the same result. i suggest people to use gnome as default session. you may try kde, but i think gnome is the best choice.....
so, i am switching back to gnome...!!!
