AssualtCube : Great game to play in LAN
I hope many of you(IITians) already know about Assualtcube
It is a first person shooting game.
And it requires very low requirement pc.
And its size is around 40MB.
And it is available for windows, Linux, and Mac pcs
(you can click on the platform names above to find the respective installers how cool is that??)
Anyway, here are some details about the games:
Keywords:
Fragged: killing someone shooting everywhere.
Gibbed: Obliterating someone. You can achieve it only by headshots using sniper or by using a grenade.
Setting up server:
for that, you need to give the following information.
Password (optional): The password required to join server
Admin password: The password of the admin of the server
Server: -mlocalhost
Port: Define a port, we use 6666 as a general rule.
i.p. : i.p. of your machine
Server description: Simply the name people going to recognize you by.
Message of the day: Self-explanatory
Skip the other parts by pressing enter.
Game types:
CTF = Capture the flag.
Capture the flag is played on some sort of playing field. Whether indoor or outdoor, the field is divided into two halves, known as territories. Players form two teams, one for each territory. Each side has a "flag" which is most often a piece of fabric, but can be any object small enough to be easily carried by a person (night time games might use flashlights or lanterns as the flags). The flags are generally placed in a visibly obvious location (but in some variations the flag is hidden) at the rear of a teams territory. The object of the game is for players to make their way into the opposing team's territory, grab the flag and return with it to their own territory without being tagged. The flag is defended mainly by tagging opposing players who attempt to take it. Within their own territory players are "safe", meaning that they cannot be tagged by opposing players. Once they cross in to the opposing teams territory they are vulnerable.
You can read details about it from here
You must remember that no matter how many times you kill your opponents in CTF, no points will be achieved.
DeathMatch:
Simply shoot anyone or anything that moves The one with the highest kills wins!!
Team deathmatch:
Team version of deathmatch.
I think this will do for now as for the basics.
Let me know your feelings about the game
