How To Set Environment(Class Path) variable permanently For JAVA And Tomcat Server
How To Set Environment(Class Path) variable permanently For JAVA And Tomcat Server
Point by point (First For Java1.6.0)
1. Install
Java(Any Version) in any drive and then (if in C drive OR in C:\Program
Files\Java\jdk1.6.0)
Copy the path then go to MyComputer---->
Properties---->Advance----> Environment Variables (Left side window appears) ---->U get Environment Variables window(Rignt side window
appears)----> Go to System Variables---> Click New
-----> (right down window) in
Variable Name: - JAVA_HOME
Variable Value: - C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0
Click “ OK”
In Variables Column of System
Variables. In this you Path
select it and click Edit button u get do not change in Variable Name but add bold item written in Variable Value and click ok--->okàOK
Variable Name: Path
Variable Value: ;;%
JAVA_HOME %\ bin;;
Open cmd and write javac if u get this window then java class path is set u have not to set
every time .
Tomcat Server
First
you can down load “apache-tomcat-6.0.16” and put it in appropriate drive
in my case it is c:
Then copy the address “C:\apache-tomcat-6.0.16”
Again go to to MyComputer---->
Properties---->Advance----> Environment Variables (Left side window appears) ---->U get Environment Variables window(Rignt side window
appears)----> Go to System Variables---> Click New
-----> (right down window) in
Variable Name: - CATALINA_HOME
Variable Value: - C:\apache-tomcat-6.0.16
Click “ OK”
In Variables Column of System
Variables. In this you Path
select it and click Edit button u
get do not change in Variable Name but
add bold item written in Variable Value and click ok--->okàOK
Variable Name: Path
Variable Value: ;;% CATALINA_HOME %\ bin;;
Open cmd and write
“catalina run” if u get following window your server is start
