some tricks....

to operate ubuntu we have to install various types of applications. most of the time we do this using the add/remove option. from there we download and install applications very easily...
but did you ever think what happens to those files you downloaded?
those files are still in your computer even after installation. this may not be a big deal for your hard disk size is huge. but after 1 or 2 years what will happen?
again, we all update our ubuntu when needed. sometimes the kernel is updated. then in the boot screen more than one kernel is shown. this is very annoying.

there is an application called UBUNTU TWEAK. many of you may know about it. the post is for those who don't know. with the application you can clear unwanted repository files downloaded during application installation or clear the unused kernel. just click on the link and download the application(1.2mb). you can do many things with the application. i hope you will enjoy using the application...

Just download the .deb file, and then double click on it.

sorry about the problem you faced. from now on remember .deb is like .exe of windows. you just have to double click on it.......
