my fellow friends.....we all are using dual booting now....windows and ubuntu. while you are in ubuntu, it's not easy to recognize different drives...at least for me. So yesterday i was browsing c drive from ubuntu and seeing a file named ntldr i suspected as a virus and deleted it. don't laugh....you probably have no idea how much have i suffered from viruses. Then when i tried to boot windows it simply stated that 'ntldr' missing and could not boot.....i had to reinstall windows after that as 'fixboot' and 'fixmbr' didn't work.
soooo...keep it in mind...don't delete anything in c drive in ubuntu unless u r absolutely sure that it has nothing to do with windows.

heya anik..
Bad problem you suffered. My sympathies for you.
But when there is a problem, there is a solution.
Remember the autorun.inf file?
You can also use it in hard drives. Go ahead, create an autorun.inf file in all windows drives, all containing separate labels. When you will boot from ubuntu, you will be able to recognize the drives by the names.
Also, check out this topic

this tool automatically mounts the ntfs drives in ubuntu OS.
