Get latest topic notifications in your ubuntu Desktop

Many topics are made everyday. Some of them might be very important to you.
Which means, if you do not login to iitduforum everyday, you might not know about the urgent/important topics.
But there is a way.
First of all, you can get new topic names from the whole forum, or from a specific section.
For example, if you want to get notifications from the whole forum, the address is:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/iitduforum?format=xml
If you want to get notification from a section, first of all, go to a section,and notice the url:
For example, the url of noticeboard is:
https://iitdu.forumotion.com/noticeboard-f4/
Notice the number, It is 4.
So, our forum's noticeboard notification url is:
https://iitdu.forumotion.com/feed/?f=4

Among man other softwares, I prefer two softwares:

1. Yarssr

Code:

sudo apt-get install yarssr

Yarssr looks very simple. This is the settings page:


And when you click on it:


2. liferea

Code:

 sudo apt-get install liferea

Liferea adds an entry in your mail icon of ubuntu:


You can edit the settings as well.


Keep in mind, both of them are feed readers. You should not enable auto download/auto reading. just auto updating. Otherwise, they will start downloading the texts along with the new topic names for you as well.

This is going to be a very helpful post. Some users complaint me that, its hard to get urgent notices or important topics update without visiting forum. They can get e-mail notification but not forum's. Hope, now we are going to have notifications from forum as well

ওইখানে একটা ছোট্ট ঝামেলা আছে। সেকশন অনুসারে কিভাবে ওখানের ফীড বার করতে হয় এখনো জানি না।

পরিক্ষার পরে লেগে পড়ুন এসব নিয়ে। ঘুমপাড়ানী এবং নটিফিকেশনী- দুটারই আপডেট চাই।

ঘুমপাড়ানিতে কি আপডেট চান তাই তো বললেন না কেউ কিছু না বললে বুঝি কি করে যে কে কি চাইছে?
আর ওখানের কিভাবে কোন অংশে কোন ফীড তৈরী হয়, নাকি একেবারেই আলাদা করা যায় না, পুরো ফোরাম জুড়ে একটাই ফীড, তা আমার মনে হয় লিনাক্স ফোরামের মাথারাই বলতে পারবে।

সেক্ষেত্রে এই রকম একটা টুলস নিয়ে আপনাকেই লিফোর রাঘব-বোয়ালদের সাথে আলোচনা করতে হবে। আলোচনা সাব-ফোরামে একটা টপিক খুলে ফেলেন।

হুমম, ভালো বলেছেন। তবে আমার মনে হয় IRC এ জিজ্ঞাসা করলেও হবে। কারন এটা এক কথায় উত্তর টাইপের। হবে নাকি হবে না।

আপনিই তো বললেন আপডেট করা লাগবে। আমি ভাবলাম ব্যাপারকি। কি করতে হবে না বলেই বলে আপডেট চাই। কি না কি ভেবেছে... জিজ্ঞাসা করে নেয়াই ভাল মনে করেছি।

আর আমি মোটেও জিনিয়াস না কিছুই করতে পারি নাই এখন পর্য্যন্তঃ ।
