A Sparse Overview On Computer Networking Class

jewel sir did not take many class, by the way he covered awful lots of topic of which i have hardly any idea. i did not missed a single class of him but most of the time i was busy in sleeping. After searching a lot from my memory trash, i found these topics and tools jewel sir told us. may be there are spelling mistake, it should be rectified if there is....

1.basic idea of data communications and medium
2. OSI layers
3.classful and classless addressing
4. packet forwarding mechanism (conceptual)
5. static routing and dynamic routing
6. OSPF and BGP
7. ifconfig, ping, arp, rarp, iptraf, tcpdump, wireshark, route (practical), nc
8. DNS and Zonefile, dig (conceptual and practical)
9. to setup custom name server through bind9(practical)
10. telnet, SSH, FTP (minor conceptual and practical)
11. to setup web server, virtual host through apache

thats all i can remember. there should be more..... anyone who knows more should append these topics.....

maximum people have not attended class... so who have listened to jewel sir carefully should either post tutorials to forums upon those topics or provide useful links upon them...

between, aro these topics are added with the previous syllabus or only these topics are in the syllabus

however, from where do we get these topics??

the topics rayhan mentioned is the class details taken by Jewel sir.
So obviously, it is not syllabus.
Also, he mentioned practical details as well. We are not yet sure whether practical parts are included in syllabus.

Next, the "previous syllabus" you mentioned, it was given by Sir himself. So, either these topics are addition to the previous one, or only the previous syllabus is needed for studying.

Also, in the syllabus sir mentioned, it covers most of the theoritical parts mentioned by Rayhan here.

We need to study theories from the book written by Forouzan.
